Nantes Métropole has developed an algorithm to determine eligibility for free or reduced-fare unlimited transit passes based on household income and family composition. Applicants submit requests at the town hall, where agents collect supporting documents and input the necessary data into Deltas, a software developed by Nantes Métropole. The algorithm processes this information in real-time, providing an immediate decision on eligibility. The algorithm is open-source, reflecting Nantes Métropole’s commitment to transparency in automated decision-making. The code is available for public consultation.
