Nantes Métropole has developed an open-source algorithm to determine eligibility for assistance with drinking water tariffs. This algorithm focuses on the declarative aspect of the social water pricing program, targeting specific beneficiaries. It calculates eligibility based on household income and family composition. Applicants submit their requests at the town hall, where agents collect supporting documents and input the necessary information into Deltas, software developed by Nantes Métropole. The algorithm processes the data in real-time and provides immediate feedback on eligibility. The system is open-source and available under the CeCILL-B license, reinforcing transparency in public decision-making.
