ANOPPI is a tool developed for the (semi-)automatic anonymization of Finnish legal documents, particularly court decisions, to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) methods to identify and anonymize personal data in texts, making the process faster and more efficient than manual methods. The tool can be accessed either as a web application or programmatically through a REST API. ANOPPI is open-source and is used to publish anonymized court decisions on platforms like the LawSampo semantic portal, enabling human reading and data analysis in legal informatics.

#automate Automate the anonymization of legal documents by applying Natural Language Processing (NLP) methods to detect and remove personal data. This streamlines the process, saving time and reducing costs typically associated with manual anonymization.
#comply Ensure compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by anonymizing court decisions and other legal documents before public release. The tool automates this process to meet the privacy and ethical standards set by law, ensuring that no personal data is disclosed.
#share Share anonymized legal documents as Linked Open Data through the LawSampo semantic portal. This facilitates open access to legal information for both human readers and automated data analysis, contributing to transparency and the advancement of legal informatics.
